Our commitment to safer gambling

Most people who gamble do so for entertainment and stay within what they can afford. We want your play with us to stay that way, so limits, breaks and self-exclusion are built into every account and are easy to find.

Gambling is a form of paid entertainment, not a way to earn an income or to win back money that has already been lost. Before you play, decide how much you are willing to spend and treat that figure as the cost of the session. If it runs out, the session is over.

Our games are for adults aged 18 or over only. We hold a gaming licence and verify the identity, age and address of every account holder, and we may ask for documents again at any point. Any account found to belong to someone under 18 is closed, stakes are returned and winnings are withheld.

Our staff are trained to notice patterns that suggest gambling is no longer under control. We may contact you, ask questions about affordability, or restrict an account where we have concerns. We would rather have an awkward conversation than let a problem grow.

Start with a deposit limit

You can set a deposit limit before you make your first deposit. It takes a few seconds and it is the simplest way to keep your spending where you want it.

The tools in your account and how to switch them on

Every safer gambling tool sits in one place in your account, under the safer gambling settings. You do not need to contact us to use them, and using them has no effect on your ability to withdraw the funds already in your balance.

ToolWhat it doesWhen it applies
Deposit limitsCaps what you can deposit over a daily, weekly or monthly periodA tighter limit applies as soon as you confirm it; a looser one applies only after the cooling-off period shown in your account
Loss limitsCaps your net losses across the period you chooseA tighter limit applies at once; a looser one applies after the stated waiting time
Session limitsEnds a logged-in session once the time you set has passedFrom your next login
Reality checksPuts an on-screen reminder of time played and your net position at the interval you chooseFrom your next session
Time-outLocks your account for a short break, from a few days up to several weeksStraight away, and the break cannot be ended early
Self-exclusionCloses your account to gambling for a longer minimum period, with no gambling marketing during itStraight away, and it cannot be lifted before the period has ended

Switching a tool on

  1. Sign in and open the account menu.
  2. Choose the safer gambling settings.
  3. Select the tool you want, then the amount or the period that suits you.
  4. Confirm. A tighter limit, a time-out or a self-exclusion takes effect immediately.
  5. If you cannot complete the step yourself, our live chat team or support@casino-skyvegas.co.uk will apply it for you.

If you need something the settings do not cover

Tell us. We can remove you from marketing, restrict certain payment methods or apply a limit on your behalf if you give us the figure. Requests to tighten a limit, take a break or self-exclude are actioned on the same contact. We will not try to talk you out of it and we will not offer a bonus to keep you playing.

Signs that gambling may be a problem

Problem gambling usually develops gradually. Go through the checklist below honestly, thinking about the last few months rather than today alone.

  • You play for longer or for more than you planned, or deposit again to keep a session going.
  • You chase losses, raising stakes to get back to where you started.
  • You borrow money, sell belongings or use money set aside for bills or rent in order to gamble.
  • You hide how much you gamble, or you are not honest about it with people close to you.
  • You feel restless, irritable or low when you are not gambling, and think about it when you should be doing something else.
  • Gambling is affecting your work, studies, sleep, mood or relationships.
  • You have promised yourself you would stop or cut down, and have not managed to.

If more than one of these applies to you, set a time-out or self-exclusion now and speak to one of the organisations below. Support is free and confidential, whether or not you have decided to stop.

Where to get help

The organisations below are not part of our business and provide free, confidential support across the UK. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral or any paperwork to get in touch.

  • GambleAware - a charity that funds treatment and prevention and publishes plain-language advice on cutting down, budgeting and supporting someone else who gambles.
  • GamCare - provides free counselling and structured treatment, in person, by phone and online, both for people who gamble and for family members affected by it.
  • GamStop - the free national online self-exclusion scheme; a single registration blocks you from the online gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for the period you choose.
  • The National Gambling Helpline - staffed around the clock by trained advisers who can talk through your situation in confidence and refer you to local treatment.

Your bank may also let you block gambling payments on your card or account, and software is available that blocks gambling sites and apps on your devices. Alongside self-exclusion, these make an impulsive return to play much harder.

If you have told us you are taking a break or are self-excluded, we will not send you gambling marketing. If a message still reaches you, tell our live chat team or e-mail support@casino-skyvegas.co.uk so that we can correct it.

Protecting children and other adults

Gambling with us is restricted to people aged 18 or over. We verify age and identity for every account, and we take steps to make sure our site and our advertising are not aimed at or attractive to children.

Where a device is shared, the usual cause of underage access is a saved password. You remain responsible for all activity on your account, including play by anyone you have allowed to use your log-in.

  • Keep your log-in details to yourself and do not save them in a shared browser.
  • Log out fully when you finish, rather than simply closing the tab.
  • Set a passcode or biometric lock on any device you use to play.
  • Keep payment cards and banking apps out of reach of children.
  • Install parental control or filtering software, which can block gambling sites and apps and limit what a child can install or pay for.

If you believe someone under 18 has used your account, or any other account with us, contact our live chat team or e-mail support@casino-skyvegas.co.uk. We will look into it, close any account held by a minor and return the stakes placed.
